πŸ“Ί Media server β€” new links

Everything moved to proper HTTPS web addresses. Two messages below: one for everyone, one just for admins. Tap to copy, then paste into WhatsApp.

⚠️ Read this first β€” it explains 99% of "the link doesn't work"

Port 80 is not forwarded on the router, so plain http:// does not reach the server at all β€” it fails with no error page, which looks exactly like the site being down.

Always include https://, or tap a link from this page. Forwarding port 80 on the router would make the bare form auto-redirect and remove this trap entirely.

Still not working? Open it in a private/incognito window. That bypasses cached redirects and DNS from the old links, which is the other common cause.

Message 1 β€” for family & friends Public

Safe to send to anyone who watches stuff. Contains no admin links.

πŸ“Ί *Media server update β€” nicer links!*

Everything now has a proper secure web address, so no more typing weird port numbers.

https://request.allan.sahirm.com

*A few notes:*
β€’ Make sure it starts with *https://* β€” plain http won't work
β€’ Your old links still work for now, but please switch over
β€’ Same username and password as before, nothing changed there
β€’ Everything is encrypted now, so logging in over wifi/mobile is safe

Any trouble, just message me πŸ‘

Message 2 β€” admins only Private

For you and Allan. Do not send this to the family group β€” these panels control downloads and indexer credentials.

Jackett β€” https://jackett.allan.sahirm.com

*Notes:*
β€’ Must be *https://* β€” port 80 isn't forwarded, so http won't auto-redirect
β€’ Old port URLs (:8081, :8989, :7878, :9696, :9117, :5055) still work as a fallback
β€’ qbittorrent. and jellyseerr. still work as aliases for qbit. and request.
β€’ All share one wildcard certificate, auto-renewing

*qBitController on Android:* set the host to
https://qbit.allan.sahirm.com
with no port number. This is what fixes the "unexpected end of stream" crashes.

Two things that trip people up
  • Port 80 isn't forwarded, so typing http:// gives nothing β€” it must be https://.
  • Old allan.sahirm.com:PORT URLs still work, so nothing breaks if someone ignores this message.
